Goo Hye-sun Reveals She Was Asked Out by a University Student and Worried About His Mother

On the December 4 broadcast of MBC’s “Radio Star,” actress Goo Hye-sun openly shared that a university student had asked her out, surprising everyone. Goo Hye-sun, who graduated with top honors from Sungkyunkwan University after 13 years and is currently studying for a master’s degree at KAIST, also showed off her patented “hair roll” invention.
The episode featured guests Choo Shin-soo, Goo Hye-sun, Kwak Si-yang, and Yoon Nam-no in a special segment called “My Second Act is Clear.” Goo Hye-sun became famous for her role as Geum Jan-di in the popular drama “Boys Over Flowers,” and she has since showcased her talents in painting, music, and writing, even holding exhibitions, releasing music, and publishing books.

During the show, Goo Hye-sun revealed that she graduated with the highest honors in film studies at Sungkyunkwan University and presented her unique hair roll invention. When asked if she had ever been asked out while in school, she honestly said yes, sparking curiosity from the audience. She added, “I was worried about that friend’s mother,” which made everyone laugh.
Goo Hye-sun also shared that she is currently studying for a master’s in scientific journalism at KAIST and addressed rumors about paying for her admission.
Goo Hye-sun also recalled how a ringtone she composed in middle school ranked first on a Chinese music platform for a day, earning her 30 million won. She mentioned that her New Age music albums are often featured in variety programs.
With 23 years in acting, Goo Hye-sun shared funny stories, including how she was cast in the sitcom “Nonstop” after a chance meeting with a PD outside MBC’s main gate, and how she once felt flustered while filming a music video as a newcomer outside a luxury store. She also recalled struggling with a dance move she couldn’t quite get, giving viewers an entertaining and honest look at her career.
